The Prime Minister noted that in the coming period, the key priority of the security system should be tackling organised criminal groups. The meeting concluded that the field of trafficking in human beings is another challenge faced by the institutions. The Government urges the Prosecutor’s Office to make a stronger contribution to the activities of prosecuting perpetrators of these crimes, putting a particular emphasis on organisers of contracted marriage and begging. PM Marković also said that security is a primary task of the police and that it will also introduce certain organisational changes and improvements that should ensure more effective fight against all forms of crime.

It was emphasised that the Government is determined, at the proposal of the Ministry of the Interior, to provide the highest level of material and technical means for the high-quality and efficient operation of all segments of the security system, including improving the material position of employees through resolving housing issues of police officers and their families.
